Truth is One. We can neither join nor divide it. And all joining and dividing is the game of the mind. The mind always goes to either this extreme or that extreme, like the pendulum of a clock. Both these aspects of a division and an unity speak of duality. And the truth is in a non-duality or transcendence. This happens when the mind is no more. The first glimpse of the truth happens in a no-mind. Both the epics, that is Ramayana and Mahabharata, illustrate this metaphorically. And understanding both of them very well is for our common good. Rama creates boundaries and he does not transgress and still proves that he is a “Maryada Purushottam”. He is a rule keeper. He is an Enlightened Leader of the Dwapar Yuga. 

Krishna comes after Rama and destroys all the boundaries. He destroys all the rules, and recreates new rules and new values. He is a rule maker and a king maker. And he too still proves as a “Poornavatar”. He is an Enlightened Leader of the Treta Yuga. And both of them demonstrate and establish the same truth or “Dharma” in different yugas or ages or times. Krishna takes the name of Rama in Bhagavad Geeta very respectfully. He says while explaining to Arjuna that among those who wield weapon He is Rama. Therefore, understanding Rama and Krishna and their roles very well is for our common good. And both are Enlightened Leaders of their own time. We all must learn the Enlightened Leadership lessons from them. Ramayana and Mahabharata are eternal resources of Enlightened Leadership and Rama and Krishna are Enlightened Leaders of their own time displaying and demonstrating the skills of that “Inspired Leadership”.
