I Lead India RTI Day !!

The Right to Information Act helps citizens to get sensitive and critical information from the government departments for their inaction and wrong action.

The Times of India has started an initiative called the I Lead India Day. It has held its workshop in Kolkata to start this campaign.

The “Right to Information” helps the citizens become agents of change and bring in transformation in the overall working of the government departments.

The Right To Information Act, 2005 came into force on 13th of October, 2005. This law helps and empowers the common man to get complete clarity on the decisions and actions of the government at all levels and across all government departments.

“The I Lead India Right To Information Day initiative seeks to inspire citizens to overcome their apathy, educate them about RTI as a powerful tool of citizen empowerment and help create an understanding of the manner in which RTI can be leveraged to bring greater transparency in the manner in which we are governed”.

The “Right to Information” should lead us to the “Right to Transformation”.
